I want to get into skiing/snowboarding. but I'm missing an inner ear, so balance may be an issue, even though I've been half deaf for as long as I can remember. I might get corrective surgery for it someday.

And I'm like Sailor Steve, Definitely about the surfing. I need to get my own board and get back to it.

Oh I see. I'm glad it wasn't as serious as I originally thought!

I like to snowboard (I used to skateboard and surf too), but have to travel to far (800km), so that sucks. There's a few indoor centres but it just isn't the same. Wooosh, 8s later you are back in the lift...

Last went skiing about 20 years ago for a few years on the trot, but can't afford it now . If I had the money I'd now rather be jumping out of aeroplanes, last did that only five years ago - much more fun, but just as expensive!

I started Skiing when I was about 6 years old. Took to it like a duck to water, which is kind of funny because I live in a part of the world that is relatively flat, might see snow hit the ground once every three or four years and barely an inch or two at that.

We went skiing pretty much every year in the early Spring until i was about 16 years old.

I have not been since, and i miss it dearly because it was great fun.

I feel like if i went out today, even after such a long hiatus... i could get into the groove of it very quickly.

Be glad you don't feel too old. Young you will get over. Old is a little more final. Last year I was running for a train and slipped. Rather than regain my balance or at least catch myself with my hands, I landed on my face before I knew what had happened. There was quite a bit of blood, but luckily no serious breakage. I did sprain my wrist and have only recently been able to do pushups again.

No, I don't ski or snowboard or surf anymore.
