Have you seen the QAs from the past few weeks? They've all been terrible.

Exactly... Which would you answer, the soft question or the hard question.

KK, so how many of you have posted questions, and what have you posted.

I will be honest I have posted none,

Ubisoft be absolutely foolhardy to put out something as incomplete as SH4 was. I still remember the dives of death just because the boat got hit by a few bullets from a plane. Or how about the crew staying on the bridge and getting gacked by depth charges. That was entirely unacceptable, and never really worked on.

Has anyone asked about those bugs?

The exterior sounds "might be making it in" is most likely due to programming problems, where having the interior sounds may be MUCH easier to impliment just due the nature of the coding required.

For crying out loud, give the devs a little credit.

Oh and please realize there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers.

These questioners had every right and reason to ask these questions, even if you would not have asked that.
agree its getting out of hand in here . no respect whatsoever towards other members in here or dev team or ubi .

Will it be possible to hear sounds like depth charge explosions and sinking ships (even whale songs?) with the hydrophone? This didn't work in SH3.
Really?! I thought SH3 featured those well (at least with GWX). A better question would've been "do depth charges create noise that hinder the active/passive sonar?". Oh well, "All will be revealed in March".

The second answer was a bit more important, nobody would like a silent sub (unless you order silent running)

after all they said you WILL hear the atmospheric sounds from within the uboat but the sound of depth charges will only "most likely make it in"

when Frenssen farts... get it? just like in Das Boot maybe you'll even be able to put an oxigen mask on...
Well i found "Frenssen farts" the most interesting part of das boot! Dont you?

no, not at all. I personally love the scene when they surface to finish off one of the ships from the convoy.

anyhow, it was a joke...

Negative on the whale songs, for now. However depth charges and sinking ships will most likely make it in, and overall we feel the hydrophone station / crew member will be more useful than in the previous games.

Will there be more atmospheric sound in the uboat compared to SH3? I'd like to hear some talking, laughing and snoring from time to time.

Since the player is free to roam in a 3D environment, that environment should be believable and immersive. Yes, those kinds of sounds are an important part for this and some of that will be seen / heard in the game.
I wonder why they wont have whale sounds?

No whales in game. Unlike GWX.

I asked whether aircraft carriers would be able to launch their planes, and whether torpedo boats would be able to launch torpedoes. Neither question has been answered.
There are a lot of very good questions that have gone unanswered.

this is true but at this point it no longer matters because the game will be available for sale in 5 weeks so wait for accurate answers and avoid bad info or guestimates.

some things were told to us that they were in the game but are now known not to be in the game after all so even ubi has had things change since the first answers were given.

That pretty much sums it up, yes.

It's a pity... this used to be such a fantastic community. Hope it will rise to its former glory again when SH5 comes out, the u-boats go out on patrol, and the modders get to work on their various projects.

These are the questions that they chose to answer, out of all the options they had available.
Given that the full interior of the u-boat is one of their major selling points, I'd think that questions about the interior of the u-boat would have some kind of, you know, priority.

Honestly still don't see the problem. I mean, how many of you hate Falcon 4.0 Allied Force because you can only fly variations of the F-16, with the plus side being a nearly 100% complete cockpit with every switch, button, dial and computer feature implemented? Lemme see a show of hands.

You do make sense. I love Falcon and I like the idea of a study sim that focuses on detail and accurate systems.

The big question and worry, however, for me is that we have really no idea if there is ANY increase in detail or accuracy with anything in SHV. We may end up with a study sim with nothing to study! I have compared this to Falcon not simulating fuel. It just wouldnt be right. I dont mind the fact that we only have one u-boat type but it should be very detailed systems wise.
