Evidently this has been part of an ongoing problem

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/...allways25.html

This also appears to be a continuation of Rep Jones' disagreement with the house on how to honour the dead solders.

http://jones.house.gov/release.cfm?id=692

While this specific poster may not be objectionable it appears from other stories that Rep Jones has had other posters outside his office that did break the house rule.

The new policy went into effect April 17 after approval from Pelosi, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., and House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. They sit on the commission that oversees much of the Capitol complex.

The new clean-up rule was designed to make it easier for staffers and tourists to flee the building in case of an evacuation and make it easier for people using wheelchairs to navigate congressional corridors."

And this isn't the first time that Jones has been told to remove his posters.

"While the GOP held the House majority in September 2004, Reps. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.) and Walter Jones (R-N.C.) were asked to remove hallway military memorials. Both Emanuel and Jones refused to take them down."

http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/...008-05-14.html

There is always two sides to the political coin.

I've listened to Mike Savage. I think he's a mental disorder himself.

I guess I just don't like extremists of any persuasion. Even when I agree with some of their charges.
He is brilliant and is right more often than not on issues. People do not like him because he is loud and brash. But I think the time of playing nice is over for this country.
He's brilliant and he's right because he agrees with you. "Playing nice" is the only thing we have that sets us apart from them. True, you have to take a hard line, but his is sometimes over the edge.

This is the part I have trouble with. I mean, really, how much easier is it going to be for anyone to maneuver a wheelchair through the congressional corridors because they removed a stupid poster from the wall?:hmm:

If they want to make a rule to not have displays of any kind on the walls of the hall, make it such, but don't use the accessibility rules or OSHA compliance to justify it.

Exactly DT, it was removed because someone did not agree with it thus squelching the idea of free speech to boot. Using the two rules noted above as just cause is stretching it quite a bit.

Lou Dobbs brings up many of the issues that savage does (90% or so). The difference is personality. They were right about the Dubai ports deal. They are right about illegal immigration. How many talk show radio guys do you know that have sent money to aid our imprisoned border patrol agents? He was right about the source of ecoli tainted produce and where it came from even while the FDA sat on the fence about it. He does not pander to the republicans like El Rushbo does. Still like Rush but he seems to have sold his soul to the party. I do not recognize the party I supported for many years. Come over to the dark side Steve, you will love it here

Bush is the man in charge, and watching him speak, you know he thinks his thoughts through carefully before talking into the mic. This is who I'd want on the red button when the time comes - someone who thinks, and then makes a very tough call.

Pelosi however is the type that would push the button because Putin didn't like the perfume she was wearing. This is of course after she called him an idiot for not knowing it's some $10K bottle of elephant seal balls, I mean hormones! :p

I think the rest of the posts in this thread will answer the rest of your questions a lot better than I can.

Subman, did you cut and paste that off a Bush-Cheney campaign ad from 4 years ago or what?

There are many good things you can say about Bush, but thinking before speaking is not one of them.

Name me another President that has created such a large industry for reporting gaffs and malapropisms?
