![]() ![]() (A five minute rewrite of a poem, so its not going to ryme perfect. Orginally galloping ghost of the japanese coast By Constantine Guiness. And yes im bored right now ![]() I'm the galloping ghost of the Carribean coast. You don't hear of me and my crew But just ask any man off the coast of Cancun. If he knows of the U-182. I look flat and fat, a seacow at that, All alone with no one at my side, But we'll tell you a story of battle and glory, As enemy waters we ride. I've been stuck on a rock, felt the depth charge's shock, Been north to a place called St John's, and I've sunk me two freighters atop the equator Hot work, but the sea was cold blue. I've cruised close inshore and carried the war to the sleeping giant the japanese awakened, While they sent out their planes, i could hear New Orleans, So I stayed, and listened to the tunes. When we rigged to run silently, deeply I dived, And within me the heat was terrific. My men pouring sweat, silent and yet Cursed me and the whole damned Atlantic. Then destroyers came sounding and depth charges pounding My submarine crew took the test. Far in that far off land there are no friends on hand, To answer a call of distress. I was blasted and shaken (some damage I be taken), my hull bleeds and pipe lines do, too I've come in from out there for machinery repair, And a rest for me and my crew. I got by on cool nerve and in silence I served, Though I took some hard knocks in return, One propeller shaft sprung and my battery's done, But the enemy ships I saw burn. I'm the galloping ghost of the Caribean coast, You don't hear of me and my crew. But just ask any man off the coast of Cancun, If he knows of U-182 |

About the Lorient harbor, I just transfered to Lorient, bought an IXC. Normally the Base faces South, but I noticed it is facing West now. Have not been to Lorient yet since installing War Ace Campaign, did Hansolo have something to do with this. I basically just drive straight out of the SubPen and right out the mouth of the harbor.

I wanna be a part of Operation Drumbeat, and head for the U.S. coast to hunt. Then I need a IX, so my answer is obvious

Nice work, Ducimus! It reads like an old sea shanty.
--------- Reasons to love the IX 1. Extra Torpedoes & two stern tubes 2. Greater Range: Less time in port, more diverse patrol areas 3. 105mm Deck Gun is much more effective than the 88mm 4. 37mm Flak Gun can take down all small craft and aid in the sinking of larger ones 5. Greater Surface Speed Granted, the IX aren't as maneuverable as the VII boats, but I think they more than make up for this in terms of their increased effectiveness as weapons of war. Good luck!

![]() @ hyperion2206 Get the IX boats, IXD2 when its available they're nice looking boats, probably the real reason i get them is cause i like the look of them, and when on the bridge, looking straight ahead the uboat looks better i can see more of the front, compared to the VIIB/C i just see a little point, makes me feel like im in a large bucket. My reasons are crap for wanting to get one but thats the real reason why i grab a IX boat. I go for the look. ![]() Oh and longer range, more torpedos less cramp conditions, better weapons - flak guns (*unless u get the VIIC U flak boat*) Last edited by kiwi_2005; 11-05-06 at 12:10 PM. |

Well, I finally decided NOT to get a IX boat, I'd rather stick with my good old VIIc U-95
