In the meantime while your waiting for a more helpful answer from someone else way more qualified than me I would suggest:

1.Try starting a new career in 1944 to see if you can. Edit:keep old career until someone else says it's worthless or you get fed up

3. Get new copy of DVD SH3 can't be more than £10 now, cheaper than a round in the pub and lasts longer
