Strange but I miss that stuff being across the other side of the world.

Last time that I was back there I was up at my Mum's property at Colo Heights (2 hours drive WNW from Sydney centre), I opended the back door and almost stood on a 1-1.5m long Eastern Brown Snake that had found comfort on our back door outside mat. Thankfully both our dogs (Ali the Dalmation and Zack the Aussie Cattle Dog) were inside at the time. Garden spade did the trick. Dogs got the body and head went in the fire.

Then there is that regime of always checking the inside of your shoes before putting them on just in case something such as a Funnel Web spider has taken a liking to your stinky Blundstones.
