If you analyze XBox 360 titles vs its PC counterparts for example, the XBox will have terrible resolution to distant objects, especially characters. PC's have no such limitation. This is why I hate console ports - they dumb down the graphics. So if a proggy is designed with consoles in mind from the start, then you will get a decent running PC version on lesser hardware. -S PS. An example of what I'm talking about: Quote:

Hey, what are you doing here?:rotfl:Let us know what Fallout is like, damnit.
I read the pc version is way better looking than the consoles, but I guess that is also some kind of a port? Some of the videos I have seen looked okay, but I dont know which version of the game I was looking at.

dont be dismayed Rider. I too have a single core AMD 64fx, with an ATI 2600, 2 gig RAM. and I can still play all of the new games. Though I usually wait untill price drops and reviews start to come in. my comp is slightly ****ty compared to some of my more serious gaming friends.
A single core will still get the job done. but be prepared to turn down some of the effects. Some day I WILL buy that new motherboard. |

I love FC2 (16hrs and counting), FallOut 3 is tempting me, but don't think I'll bother with DS, if it really is like Doom 3, cos I couldn't stand that sh!t excuse for a game. lol. Though the game I'm really, rreally looking forward to is E:TW. Bring on Feb!!!!!!!!!!!

Fallout 3 - finally a decent RPG FPS game! I feel like I am playing the original Fallout from a FPS perspective. The world is huge. The detail immense. The dialog extreme. Stay tuned since I will have more to say later.

Oh shiznit. Keep us posted on Fallout 3. I want it so bad, but am too afraid of catching consolitis. I can't read any "professional" reviews because they're absolutely ridiculous this year. It seems every game I expect to be great gets a 7/10 and anything hyped gets a 10/10.
Super surprised about the things I've been hearing about Farcry 2 lately. I just might get it. I assume the screwed up enemy spawns in FC2 I hear so much about will be fixed. One thing though, just to be clear. Does Farcry 2 have install limits? If so, I think I'll pass. I'm hoping that crap will die out if enough people stop buying those games. Yea, that means I've decided not to buy Red Alert 3 ![]() ![]() |

Yup, FarCry 2 has limited install, but you get them back when or if you uninstall. That way there is no limitation. Lame but tolerable.

Fallout 3 - played it quite a bit last night. There is a TON of dialog like found in the original. A TON!
Finding a pistol is not necessary either. You pretty much start with one and I'm playing on the most difficult level possible. This is unlike Fallout where it was difficult to find your first firearm. Finding ammo for it is also pretty easy but it cost about a cap per bullet. -S Last edited by SUBMAN1; 10-30-08 at 08:24 AM. |
