Your lack of knowledge has gotten you into this mess. You stated you disabled the onboard video, but you don't know how to disable shared memory and palette snoop. They are all in the same place, the bios. Some newer mainboards don't have these settings since they have become obsolete years ago. The suggestion above to return your computer to its original state and return the card to get your money back is very good advice for you. Put the money back in the bank, save some more and get yourself a better card and/or computer. With your level of expertese, the current state of your hardware and the mule straining while slipping backwards, you are in a losing battle called "no money and no how." You will NOT enjoy the game even if you got it running. I learned how to build computers by experimenting the way you are, but it cost me a lot of time and money. You may have the time, but do you have the money to throw away on experiments?

I listed palette snooping and memory share in case you are using an older motherboard. As Pv said, they may not show up in newer boards, but this is more common for boards without onboard video to have these missing. Some new boards with onboard video will still have these options show up.

If you want to continue with this, spend some time googling topics on what you are trying to do and then spend even more time reading the how to's on the tech sites you find.

It surprises people to learn it's often easier to get things to work if you build a computer from scratch rather than trying to update an existing one. Especially one with onboard video and audio. Thank God onboard modems have become scarce- that was a real headache.
