'IIRC' is shorthand for 'If I Remember Correctly.'

The type IX boats carry the most torpedoes - 22 aginst 14 on a type VII. The early models of homing torps, or 'gnats', were pretty unreliable historically but their performance improved as the war went on. They can be tricky to use and will sometimes home on the sound of your own boat!

The Falkes take 100 metres (400) longer than the others (300).

After launch go deep and rig for silent running or stay at PD and stop engines

Been there, done that but missed getting the screenie (too busy crash diving!)

I've got a lovely little mod that gives you an XXI with a full load of homing torpedoes. Great fun in 1939.
