"FOTRS" is a huge mod pack which improves the graphics, the artificial intelligence and atmosphere of Silent Hunter 4 (More ships, new sounds, new submarine skins etc..). It is similiar like TMO or RFB. We set the focus on realism and atmosphere. For example historical correctly radar range.

Isn't this mod released now? - I saw a download link on the acesofdeep webpage... 650 mb. that's a huge mod :hmm: haven't had the time to try it.

As I allready have mentioned, we released the german version last week. We are now working on the english version of FOTRS. I think you don´t want to have menues and objectives in german.

Hello Captains,

the english version is comming up soon.

To answer some questions about the contents of this modpack i wanne give you some informations.

First of all we use an reworked version of W_Clears Environment V 4.5.
The Campaign is based on TMO but reworked.
We got there more coastal- and harbourtraffic.
The british navi got some more warships like the "Ramillies" and the "Resolution".
With permission from iambecomelive we add some of his nice merchants.
We also add many new selfmade merchants to the game.
An special unit is the japanese "Auxcruiser" ! Be carefull when you see this ship :rotfl:



We add an new neutral flag "Red Cross" to the game, just in the same way you all know it from GWX.
They got 2 ships you better didnt shoot.:p



All flags are reduced in size cause we hate this big stuff from SH4.
Dials are reworked and bigger.
The Catalina searchplane was added to the game
Some new US-Planes, especially the "Hellcat" got rockets.
In this case you often got nothing to shoot when they have done their work..... :rotfl:





Subskins and some shipskins are new and selfmade.
Many other "Eyecandy-Stuff" entered the game.

Here at Subsim, modders like to have other modders follow a simple code found here:

Hard work and time was put into mods. Not only by GWX but others who mod SH3/SH4. A simple request is asked by all modders in using someone elses work. That request is asking permission. It is a something most if not all modders would like to occur before pictures are displayed of their work and then asking permission after the fact. Putting the cart before the horse as it were. Currently you are taking the fire and brimstone of the GWX modders work. Being that the GWX folks are working on SH4 and certainly will be using their files and know how from SH3, you will understand if they decline permission to use these vessels and the signature blimp of GWX. Being that GWX wishes to mod SH4 with their GWX files, it should be that GWX gets first crack at their own files for SH4.

Maybe I'm blind, but where in this statement did he say they were going to use this without permission? If anything, I think he was being polite in saying that they needed to ask permission. Is it illegal to say what you'd like to do? And posting a screenshot of a mod is against the code? I guess you better throw me in the brig right now 'cause I've posted probably hundreds of screenshots of Dave and Kriller's work. Nowhere in the code is there any mention of restricting the posting of screenshots of something that you'd like to include in a mod.

I suppose next we'll pull a "Super Bowl" and outlaw the use of any initials without permission. Pardon my elevated bloodpressure.
