Default Realism

If it's too easy then it's not worth playing and quickly gets boring IMHO.
I'm currently using Version 1.4 with TMO and RSRD.
I just got back from a patrol with nada, zip, niente and yes, I was disappointed but at least I know that historically that was certainly not unusual. My patrol before that I managed to find one ship. Sinking it took some time and manoeuvering and was extremely satisfactory!!
The patrol before that I bagged 3 ships and was ecstatic, LOL.
I don't 'cruise' the harbours as my orders don't usually give me that leeway. Additionally an 'undefended' harbour is hardly realistic and present no challenge.
I've seen some huge numbers in tonnage in SH3 and SH4 which, compared to the famous skippers of the day, are so far off it's laughable.
Whatever turns your wheel, I guess. You get out of it what you put into it.
