take wings3d. It is open souerce and you can save your objects in many formats (or export them). http://www.wings3d.com/ It works fine and you can d/l a "lagre" handbook - how to make 3-d-objekts. Greets rowi58 |

well after a long research and Gmax coming to it's end , i think i'll turn myself foward Blender but at the beginning i just wanted to make slight modifications to a ship and as i'm totally newbie with Blender maybe for this kind of work Wings3D could be the solution as it seems easier to comprehend . There's my question i've open the obj of a battleship hull in Wings3D but the soft freezes , i've made searches Google it seems to be frequent ?

The object importer for GMax works fine.
The exporter is a waste of time. Been a while since I used GMax. So.... Depending on which exporters are built in? Deep Exploration can convert the exported file. But it's not free. 3D Object Converter however, is free. here is a link to files it can handle. http://web.t-online.hu/karpo/formats.html |

3D Object Converter is a $50 shareware app with a free 30-day trial.
Is that what you meant by free?

I've got the Gold version that has been running for over 3 months.
Never paid for it cause I don't use it. I get the nag screen but it still works. :hmm: I use Deep Exploration and $50 bucks won't even buy you a peek at that after 30 days. I'll quite offering options if you prefer. |
