So What?
I have to convince my friends that this trip to Texas is not what you think it is .

But that's okay, it's easier than the last time, when I was going to meet this guy in Texas, that I meet on the the internet. He offered me dinner and a personal tour of a submarine. Queue YMCA now

FLASH!

(Please note that the Cavalla was converted to a SSK therefore I think the guns are missing so we can only load torps.)

[Now for the real news.]

Battleship Texas sinking!

Despite the millions of $$ that have been put into restoring the Battleship Texas (BB-17), much of her steel plating was not replaced in the last drydock refit. In some places, only 1/16 inch of metal separated the interior spaces from the sea outside.

As a result, even though the torpedo (an old German Type I steam torpedo because that is all they could afford) was a dud, it ripped right through the armor and now, the grand old battleship is stuck in the mud near the San Jacinto Monument, perhaps never to move again.

Reports are coming in that the torpedo was fired from the SS Cavalla, a WWII American submarine that has been missing since it was turned over to an international group of submarine simulation enthusiasts for an overnight sleepover. Unnamed sources inside the group say the order to fire came after someone by the name of Bernard was found inside the ship.

More information as it becomes available.
