This museum is 25 minutes from my home. Unfortunate they tanks are outside but all in all these are in good shape.

Oh, she is a beauty. Similar with the M1A and the US did use the cannon technology. Both cannons are the same. But comparing the two, hands down the Leopard is just a cool looking nasty tank.

The cannons of those tanks used to be very similar, but not exactly identical, but the latest Lepopard 2A6 mount a 120mm L55 cannon instead of an L44 that was found on older models. (L55 means the length of the gun in calibers, in this case 55 times 120mm)

OT of Leopard.........Each year on Salisbury Plain (not sure if it still occurs) There are or were gunnery competitions for tanks from most of the NATO countries. These competitions were designed for tank crews to prove their ability in a variety of disciplines ie: moving, stationary, uphill obstacle/downhill obstacle, moving targets, stationary targets, and all at a variety of different ranges etc. etc. The Leopard, since it's inception, has won the competition more than any other make of tank. ![]() |

She is a marvel to watch. I happened to catch a History Channel program on the Leopard.
