It's Ok mate. We don't bite here (a lot at least ). Appology accepted. Now enjoy your game and send the Allies to the bottom of the sea

For future reference I will tell you that the GWX Team has spent a lot of time researching the U-Boat war and everything you see in the game is as realistic and accurate as the game engine allows. Have a look through the manual as well. It's a great read and you will find loads of information about a number of side-issues concerning the U-Boat War (and not only).

Good Luck and Good Shooting

Its a good thing cooler heads answered before me.

I'll bet boneman didn't even realize that Japanese subs visited Bordeaux... and if I am not mistaken, one of them was even sunk in the Bay of Biscay.

Ah yes, the history everyone thinks they know vs. what real research will turn up.

Submarine squadron 50 comprised of about 6 gato's and 1 sub tender, and operated out of roseneath or holy loch, in the UK. This SubRon was created around 9/42, and left the atlantic theater sometime on, or after 4/43. As the US submarine war goes, it was a very minor footnote, but they were there for about 7 or 8 months.

The USS Gunnel's first war patrol was part of Torch

You can read her patrol report - http://www.jmlavelle.com/gunnel/patrol1.htm

(a nightmare of engine problems btw, she came back to port on her backup, "dinky", engine)
