So really, the only problem so far is that the swiss-cheesed uboat have the same crush depth as a brand new uboat. And that can be fixed! Im working on that as we speak.

So this is nothing to do with scrambling the game as you are putting here. So go ahead and send PMs to everybody telling them that my mod will erase all the files in the hard disk or whatever you want to say.

I think that you shouldnt get involved in a mod that is not yours, like you said to me once, remember?

Let the people try, and let them get pissed of or enjoy, let them TRY!
LOL, I'm not bothered at all. I'm only stating matters that GWX users should be aware of before they use your mod.

Nor have I said anything rude to you.

Although it would have been nice of you to have given us the same benefit in days past. Instead you flamed and insulted, and showed your ignorance of GWX methodology regarding damage modelling in GWX.

Your words:

When i got back, i was filled with hate... 2 (TWO) patrol crafts had killed half of my crew and flooded my submarine in all compartments... all compartments were reporting several damage and a lot of equipment were destroyed... ALL THIS WITH A MACHINE GUN???

hahahahahha... it was my first mission on my new campaign, and i didnt saved... too bad, i will have to start all over again and wait the eternity loading times...

I keep shooting a fighter plane over 15 minutes and run out of ammo on my 20mm, and the mf is still flying around, laughing in my face... but of course, a submarine is much more delicate... for petes sake! 20mm should rip apart a fighter in 2 or 3 shots!!!

But i dare any of you to destroy a type IXB submarine to pieces and kill everybody inside using a machine gun... IN ONLY 5 MINUTES!!!! you would probably not acomplish such a feat even if u have infinite ammo (such those patrol craft claws)!

By the way... 5 shots of my deck gun to sink a patrol craft??? WITH 105MM??? one single shell would blow them up to pieces...

this is ridiculous...

gwx dev team, awesome work all around, but the damage models stinks!

(with all do respect, obviously )

Everybody gets drunk once in a while... And I already asked for apologize from those dark days for you via PM. Sadly you will keep making a big deal of this and keep rubbing that on my face.

But I dont mind, Im regret and I've ask apology, done my part. Have no hard feelings against you, I do respect and use your work.

Shame you dont want to get the higher path here too.

Again, thanks for the conversation Kpt, you're the best!

Lets not hijack this thread.

What`s the Different, in game, by this three NSS_Uboat7b.zon-Settings? Can you explain me?

Thanks in advance.

I already did... but here we go again

With this higher hitpoints, you'll be able to experience a longer time in game after being hit by guns or depth charged. Before this, if you were depth charged right in the middle of your sub by a single charge, you would get death screen (end of game)... but now you can watch yourself sinking to the bottom of the sea, with people dying, equipment being destroyed, flooding filling the compartments. It's basic the real stuff, doenst matter is the sub is doomed, in RL you are able to watch what happens until the very last moment of your life, and this is what I'm offering.

As you can see the crash speed has been enhanced too, so if you try to dive beyong crash depth you'll also be killed as fast as you would in stoke sh3 or gwx.

But maybe you're thinking "if the hitpoints are increased, then I can sustain fire in the surface and duel head on with a destroyer"... but no, thats not the case... if you let your sub being hit by a shell, it will travell thru your hull, destroy the equipment inside the affected compartment and give you flood. More hits and you'll have serious damage, lots of destroyed equipment and heavy flooding that will take your boat sinking to the depths. Just like in real life.

The only problem so far with this mod is that the crush depth of a damaged submarine is almost as high as a brand new uboat. I'll be working on that for the next version. But at least you get rid of that annoying death screen.

There are more negative or side effects that the change of crush depth using this mod ?

In real life a damaged submarine coul be filled with water and don´t implode at crash depth, simply flooded at 100% with all crew death inside, because the interior pressure is very similar that the external pressure .:hmm:

No other side effects that I've noticed. But if you find any, please report so I can fix!

I'm going to check this out.

But....
A bit of advise!!
Never leave the game running when doing something else!
:rotfl:
I've come back and found one of the cats sleeping on the keyboard.
Had to reboot!!
Came back and saw the cats walking across the keyboard,
which sent me into a crash dive in shallow waters.
Came back MANY times to the Death screen!
No idea what the heck happened!

I sometimes think the Game watches you!!
You leave me running?
I KEEL YOU!!!

I've been editing the uboats *.zon files for some time now. I think I started this about when the first GW mod came out. I always set the HP at 2000. This is somewhat like Thomsens mod.
I did this because in stock and in gwx the death screen shows to often and that is really annoying.
With higher HP you have lot's more 'Das Boot' moments

So I would say, download the mod and give it a try.

p.s. Don't forget to Backup your uboats *.zon files first.

sounds good, however one question... as you can tell from my signature, ive had a "das boot" moment myself in gibraltar, i saved the boat, and limped back home, finally resting in the subpen on fumes... on stock SH3

on yer mod, will i be as severly damaged and limp back home in the same manner, or will i be just as good as a brand new boat, or a wee bit damaged, capable of mounting another attack or a counter attack on the destroyers?

also... what the hell are you talking about, i leave the damn boat on its own all the time, to cook, have a shower, do laundry, i've even walked the dogs. never have i died... i just leave it on 1x compression and mostly when im heading to my patrol site, or when im just putting out or heading home. NEVER leave it when you've just finished an engagement... the boat may have signalled an SOS and you'll have either planes or a huge sh!t storm of destroyers heading for you.

also who here fights in the medeterranian? or am i the only one? lol:rotfl:

Cheers Philipp_Thomsen!

Did a little testing with your mod.
Enabled with JSGME but deletet the 7d41 folder before...

Fired up U505 single mission and blewed ballast.
The DD's layed doom on me.

The first seconds all went well, most compartments damaged or destroyed and heavy loss of crew members. Flooding begun.
But short after that - game over screen! Hull integrity was still over 80%
I did the testing 2 times with same result and stock zones.cfg file.

Did another test run with gibraltar mission => 7c boat.
Took heavy gunfire from DD.
Result:
Not much equipment destroyed, but heavy loss of life and flooding. Hull integrity ~ 80%
Game ended with game over screen when a compartment was flooded 100%.

Would be one of the greatest breaktroughts for
the gameplay IMHO if you or maybe Sakura551
would succeed eleminating those
nasty death screen occouring when a compartment is fully flooded.

Hi Philipp_Thomsen,

Thanks for your mod. I enabled it with JSGME and tested it a bit. In Tiger's Den I full thottled towards the enemy with the scope up. Soon three destroyers start hitting me with DC's so the IXD2 started to sink while being hit time after time by the DC's. The ship was fully operational until the death screen appears at about 390 meters.

For me the ship was only stronger than usual postponing the death-screen but that I could expect.

The second mission I tried was a fatal surface attack in Russian Convoy. I sailed through about the whole convoy until the death screen appears and the ship was still operational as far as my crew was alive. As with the first test I recieved hit after hit after hit after hit. Maybe even 38cm battleshipgrenate hit my conning tower.

In fact the same experience a prolongued screen of death.

I now uninstall it as it was a nice attempt but I do not see what it should have brought me. I cannot advice it to anyone.
