A real Uboot Kapitän left his boat anyway after a few patrols. I think Otto Kretschmer is again the record owner of performing 16 (!) patrols.
8 with U-23 and another 8 with U-99.
All other Kaleuns were recalled to shore duty earlier than their 16th patrol..... or they were sunk

Well the is no time the present mate. You deserve it, Im sure the is a nice type IX waiting for you to take out on patrol

Nope, he wasn´t the only one.
Gerd Kelbling made 16 Patrols with U-593 from 41 to 43 and was 322 days at sea.
