GWX 2: What to do with your current career

If you use GWX 1.03 in your current career, what will you do once GWX 2.0 is available?

stabiz 12-12-07 09:30 AM

I couldnt find "Coming back to SH3 for GWX 2.0".:D

In GWX 1.03 I'm in Feb. '41, so it is easy to cancel the career and begin again in '39 with GWX 2.0

I'll finish my '44 IXC campaign in 1.03, all my other campaigns are already deleted in preparation for 2.0

u.Prestige 12-12-07 11:23 AM

I shall resume my current career but load from "before leaving base".:p

KeptinCranky 12-12-07 01:21 PM

my current career was finished when Kpt. Lehmann asked me to find out if "destroyers still have their teeth"
so I've started over for 2.0, a IXb in oktober 1939

oh, and those destroyers....they still bite

quit and new

My last career is saved but I think I will quit it as I won't have time to play until christmas. :dead:

And at 22nd I plan to use the weekend to update my whole gamebox and will switch to GWX2.0.... I think that calls for a new career anyway?

Doesn't matter, I just read in another thread, that HMS Hood can be sunk again in Sept'39 like my last career didi it

Canovaro 12-12-07 02:26 PM

I've had this '39 career since july and I've made it to mid 1943, so I will continue it in 1.03

Best career so far.
IXc U-68, saving up for a IXD2 or a VIIc/41.

Be aware guys, that if you attempt to use old careers from GWX 1.03 in GWX 2.0, you risk having career save bugs and even CTD's.

Just letting you know. We do not recommend it. We do recommend deleting the "SH3" folder in your "My Documents" and starting anew.

Sorry guys... just being straight with you.

16 patrols at most ?

Thanks Kpt.Lehmann!
A real Uboot Kapitän left his boat anyway after a few patrols. I think Otto Kretschmer is again the record owner of performing 16 (!) patrols.
8 with U-23 and another 8 with U-99.
All other Kaleuns were recalled to shore duty earlier than their 16th patrol..... or they were sunk :dead:

Hello, old timer! Cant wait to dust off my VIIC and go to Scapa and wet my pants. *scrambles through hard drive to find Das Boot soundtrack*

I don't see where any choice has to be made? Its rather easy to use multiSH3, do a fresh install for 2.0....and be able to continue whatever else you had going!:hmm:
