OK, just a bit of detail on the graphics. Naval Academy, artillery training, firing on ship directly in front of uboat, viewing through binoculars -
on initial settings was getting 48 FPS falling to low 30's as ship took more damage. turned synch on, steady 30 FPS adjusting texture and particle options made no difference to the 30 FPS, it only had a negative effect on the graphics. Also tried a few things on the NVidia control panel, to no avail. So I'm just going to leave it with high textures, 100% particles and synch turned on; 30 FPS certainly isn't brilliant, but it's not the worst either. I'll settle for that just now. If I ever want to add mods that eat into that I'll think about again.
