Here is another nail in COD4's coffin:

Well, found out that Steam will NOT be a part of COD4. Here is a video of
how the game playes out:

And ArmA was just too buggy to be played successfully....

I fell in love with the original Call of Duty. United Offensive was spectacular and for me it was one of if not the best online game I have ever played. Call of Duty 2 took steps back though and I thought it kinda sucked hard. I really hope CoD 4 is worth playing. I have been wanting another online fps to get hooked to. RO is the only online fps I'm playing now.

RO is great. I tried to like ArmA, but it's too buggy and there's some things about it that I just hate. The entire game feels kinda clunky, clumsy and awkward. I had some technical issues with it too. I got super annoyed at how looking down made everything bright and looking up made everything dark. God I hated that.

That was pretty neat. Just like all the other cod sp missions. Anybody else play the demo?

I wish they would release a multiplayer demo.

Default POPULAR?

FileFront has already had over 65,000 DLs of this demo since yesterday.
I will have to wait on my DL because of the backlog. This is really impressive because most of the demos in the last month are just numbered in the hundreds.....

Havent tried the demo yet, but a friend of mine told me that the engine is awesome. Even a bit older rig can run it at full graphical settings and get 40+ FPS.

Yeah, its pretty as hell, and kinda fun too. The game is more fun (or so it seems) than MoH: Airborne, even though it is a bit too arcadeish.

But it IS a looker.

Yes please. That is EXACTLY what I want. Killer arty barrages just before an attack. Machine guns that shred attacking waves, and men with bolt action rifles that require....wait for it....actual skill to use well. No more spray and pray for me. Bring on the gas masks and the mortars!!!!!!

Guess they would have to make it a respawning game, where you respawn into the fresh batch coming up the trenches only to get slaughtered again (assuming you don't die first from enemy artillery, marksmen & snipers, trench mortars, etc as you come up/wait.)

A good 'nam game would be great to have. The last one I remember that really caught the mood of 'Platoon' was a Duke Nukem 3D mod 'Platoon Leader'. Very dark nights, flare traps, endless hordes of Vietcong soldiers coming from the pitch black jungle, all with sounds from 'Platoon'. Like the radio communication between the command position and the platoon in the front line that got overrun. Excellent.
