If you are new to the thread , here's the rules: Only professional (and some amature) trash talking is allowed. No personal insults; IE: Bort is [insert insult here], 'cause he likes da Bears. One exception; you can make fun of Neal's smashing haircut IF he makes "the BET" again.:rotfl: wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Other than that, you can sling all the mud you want.

NOTE: THIS NOT A SOCCER THREAD!!!!! So, any other forms of "football" will be made fun of here! So, if you want to talk soccer (football ), there are plenty of other high quality, soap opera threads on the internet.

NOTE #2: CFL football-talk is allowed, but since you are using second-hand NFL players, you run the risk of being made fun of here. Nevertheless, you can hang out here, even if you use the metric system.

NOTE #3: I'm sick of hearing about Vick! I don't want to sort through 14 pages of Vick rants to get to the good stuff. So, unless you are talking about how Micheal Vick was framed by Phil Knight and Nike Corp to get that loser Joey a starting postion, I don't want to hear it!

Anyway, here goes nutin'....

2007-08 Football predictions...

Peyton rules the Universe....
Bort is still passed out (face down) in the nachos behind the couch after the Bears crushing loss...
Neal has a full head of hair again....
Ol McBee has ordered a pallet full of nacho-cheese,salsa, chips and diet rootbeer to endure another heartbreaking Viking season.

1. Brett Fav-ray is still playing!?! When the yellow-jackets and Ensure wears off, you cheeseheads are screwed...
-Ensure? It's called Cialis.

2. So, did Romo practice ball handling in the off-season?
-Andre Gurode has been smiling.

3. Da Bears, well... Can Rex survive another season of Takeda insults?
-A Philly fan hurling insults at the Bears.... a Monty Python line in the making. Rex will be a subpar NFL performer for his career. He sux.

4. Everyone must cheer for Da' Raiders...As Neal MAY move this thread to blendersim or tractorsim pages to save the public humiliation of last years performance.
-And now we reach the geriatric ward...... the raiders, oxegen bottles anyone?

5. I have no idea who the Viking players are this year? All I worry about: Must beat Packers, Bears, and Lions. Can you hear the Viking battle horns?!?!
-Minnesota has a foosball team????? When did this happen???

6. Will Randy Moss help or destroy the Patriots?
-Randy Moss will fade into the sunset and will be a minor footnote of NFL history.

7. Detroit Lions [queue laugh track now]
-Laugh hard, laugh long. Bet this year bites you in the a$$

8. Saints...Who gunno beat dem saints?
-Dunno. Good question, think they're gonna be strong this year.

9. Can Peyton repeat?
-Depends on what he's repeating; gas.....

10. The Chargers still have the best theme song in the NFL!
-Dunno

11. ...As the dude on ESPN radio said: Atlanta, you guys are screwed.:rotfl:
-Atlanta has a NFL fOOSBALL team? Will wonders never cease; first Minnesota and now Atlanta.

12. Will I make it to a Seahawks game this year? Torplexed are you out there???
- A Seahawks game? Why?

So post your predictions here!!!

One more week to go.
Even though this the "NFL" thread, college football is allowed. What happened to Michigan? They better win next week! ...as thet ae playing a sub-par pac-10 team.

I don't follow college football as closely, although I do follow Penn State, and I cannot stand Notre Dame. I was very happy to tune in after the draft and see them down by double digits.

Where are the Cleveland Browns in the over all scheme of things ... ?

Didn't Cleveland beat the Chicago Bears in pre-season? Aren't they
long over due for a title run?

I like Cleveland winning something this year.

I think the Bears will have a harder time this season ... that offense is on hold till someone gets hurt ... that's the way I see it.

Chargers with a new coach, but one that use to call all of the plays a couple of years ago ... He's better than Marty ball that's for sure

LT and Rivers with a great defense will take the Chargers all the way to the Super Bowl in Arizona this year
so the San Diego fans won't have very far to go.

Go Chargers Go!

To be honest, they're long overdue. They have some meeean tools this year, its just moulding them together into a machine that works on all cylinders. To me, Cleveland's biggest downfall has been their inability to work together. I know that sounds a bit harsh, but knowing who your go-to receivers are with so many newcomers HAS to throw you off a bit.

If you look at the Panthers, we didnt change a whole lot offensively. We signed David Carr as Delhommes backup, who may actually produce good things with Steve Smith and Keary Colbert, but we also lost Kris Mangum (one of the best TE's in the game) and Keyshawn Johnson, tough guys to replace. It'll be interesting to see how Carolina gets over this, especially when Jake seems to rely on an understanding of who he's throwing to.

How bout them Cowboys!

My nagging questions are...

1) Will Romo be allowed to have his girlfriend on the field before the start of game anymore?

2) Is Wade the son of a Bum?

I'm surprised Bort and Neal haven't dropped in yet. Now that da ray-duhs have Culpepper.....and the Bears...Grossman, well, we love Rex. He has a sweet spirit and means well .

I think it can only go up for the Raiders. This time last year, every football prognosticator, were predicting Oakland was going to field the worst team in Raiders' history! I haven't heard any of that this year.

I just don't have any faith in Culpepper... Sorry Raiders fans.

I think the Bears might actually do it this year. I am quietly and modestly confident...
GO BEARS!!!
Did I say that out loud...

Anyway, I'll take Takeda's predictions of doom as a good sign. When he says the Bears will take it all, I'll panic. I think this year we'll se a much more mature and efficient Rex Grossman with much fewer rough edges, although he does need to learn to take a snap without dropping the *&^#ing ball! Cedric Benson will continue to get better at running back, and Devin Hester at wideout should have most teams in a tizzy. Its gonna be an exciting year!
