Sillent running, 2 knots, rudder five degrees until you lose the buggers. Sitting doggo will not do any good. Aim for deep water.

Like mentioned above never attack escorts in shallow water. Better yet, stay out of shallow water.

Read the articles on my webbie, they'll save you a lot of grief.

I once had a similar experience with a DD in the Med, I had to retreat to Tunis, yes, that's right, Tunis.

Once I knew I'd make port we duked it out on the surface. The, now late, HMS Whirlwind, was also out of depth charges. Lost one officer and three crewmen.

In this case, go with the suggestion Brag gave. I do hope you have some batteries left.

heck.. if they out of Depth charges.... head south east and let them follow you .... at one point you need to surface and quickly send a contact report and then submerge again.. hopefully before too long you'll hear them getting taken out by the flyboys if they aren't too far away to help you ........

Reminds me of an end to one particular career.
A dozen patrols and I go cocky and chased down a tanker into the shallows. A traller and to D/E's wouldn't let me go. Tried everything, including playing possum right next to my sunk tanker, with it's nose still sticking out of the water. One would circle and the other would wait. The Luftwaffe? They showed up, and got shot down. Tried sneeking away while the D/E's were busy with them, didn't get far then my jazz got blasted.
Ehh, it's just a game so try not to blow a fuse.
Hey, some guys will give you good tips to try, but the truth is you might want to break out the chocolate cake and Beer because you've taken your crew into a no win situation and all will most likely perish.
