Dunno if this will help I have found that I only get this problem with twin machine guns if I use the singles no problems.
Not a big issue for me as I tend to dive away from planes anyway |

I thought I remembered someone coming up with a fix for this view problem as well, but I couldn't find it. I'm thinking maybe it had something to do with tweaking one of the camera files to change clipping distance - this is the trick that made the conning tower "disappear" so you could do a 360-degree scan of the horizon with the binoculars without all that stuff in the way, so I'm thinking maybe it could make the bathtub wall disappear too - might be worth a try, but I've never experienced the problem so I'd have to set up something with a Gato to give it a try.

Ok - got a chance to test some things out, and there does seem to be a way to get rid of this bathtub blocking thing - see screenshots below of an early war (April 1942) Gato with twin 20mm AA guns, trained to the side:
Zoomed out: ![]() Zoomed in: ![]() The fix to get this was very simple - just use minitweaker on the cameras.dat file to change the CameraParams Clipdistance settings to 0.5 (I did it for both dropdowns - "AA20mmPortGun" and "AA20mmStarbGun" - not sure if that's really necessary or not). At the stock/previous settings of 0.1, the bathtub wall blocking view was there, but with these new settings, it's not. I have noticed some odd behavior (sight disappearing when not firing) if you traverse the gun too rapidly side-to-side, so this may not be the perfect fix or a couple of other tweaks might be needed to improve it, but it sure beats losing sight of your whole gun and target like it is the other way. [EDIT - see post below - changing to 0.4 instead of 0.5 seems to help eliminate the disappearing sight issue while traversing] Hope this works for you - if you still can't find the previous modder's fix out there somewhere, maybe this will be worth a try (I'm running/testing this only at 1024x768 - not sure if results will vary at different resolutions, but hey - it's a start).
