Try the single mission Happy Times: you will encounter a convoy close-by which is almost devoid of escorts....the are rushing in from a distance though. You can even pick a U-boat of your liking.

That gives you just enough time to play with the maths a little and pick of some nice merchants....if you approach it well, you can easily achieve a perfect 90 degrees firing position; the mission is not called Happy times for nothing!

Thanks ReM, I'll give that a try...
I also DL'ed Raduz"s Hydrophone Tutorial & will give that a try. It may work for both the hydrophone & 3:15 etc stuff.
This sub sim looks like it has the makings of a loooong learning curve..lol

Ha Ha...That's all I need...To be "HOOKED" on another game...
I have spent the last 5 years or so totally hooked on WWll flight sims.
The last few years only on IL2 Sturmovik which has given me more fun then a barrel of monkeys..
However, I would like a change of pace and have always been a great fan of all Sub movies & books. I think the subs are the best part of the navy with the dd's next. I have always liked a small tight nit group and of course, you get that with the subs or on a destroyer...
anyway I'm looking forward to it...

Prepare to really dislike the destroyers in this sim

Welcome to the forum!
You will never stop learning in this game, especially with a supermod installed.
Like Mush Martin said, it's more like a hobby than a game.

LOL, I have to say that I never thought I'd ever find something that would just sweep away my urge to fly.

You could say that the rest of that story ends with an obsession with the U-boat war and involvement in GWX.
