I'm having more and more faith in the magnetic primers, though only in calm seas. But with calm seas, I'm more and more inclined to go toe-to-toe with the escorts than try and run away. More often than not, it seems, if you can get them to chase you and you've got a mag electric torpedo ready to go, you can take them down. It's a shame to use torpedoes on such light tonnage, but it certainly feels good to take those annoying gnats out!
