Default 2nd Flotilla

I have started a new career with the 2nd Flotilla out of Wilhelmshaven after I got sunk in my previous career in the 7th Flotilla. Anyway, I notice that the flotilla spans the period September 1939 to August 1944. Having never completed a career before, does this mean that if I make it to August 1944 my career will end? If this is the case then I suppose a transfer to another flotilla at the appropriate time will ensure I carry on till 1945?

They will transfer you out of there long before that.

You will move bases just like the flotilla did in RL....and you also have the opportunity to transfer after either of 3 patrols or 6 months

Thanks for your replies, but what happens if you stick with the flotilla until its demise, in the case of the 2nd Flotilla this was August 1944, will your SH3 career end because you no longer belong to a flotilla or will you automatically transfer to a flotilla that is still in existence?

You will get automatically transfered, I think to Bergen.

Thanks, its unlikely I'll make it to 1944, but if I do, at least I've got Bergen to look forward to.

You'll make it if you want it bad enough, and if you want tips on escort evasion there is a section in the GWX manual and a sticky thread here.

Thanks for the advice Penelope. Although it wasn't naive escort evasion that was the cause of my demise in my last career, it was my stupidity. I hit a lone destroyer (forget what type) with my last torp. It looked dead in the water and its decks were awash. Decided to surface 2,000 metres away and guess what? I was instantly under attack and taking severe damage, the half sunk destroyer was attacking me with all guns. I crashed dived but alas it was too much for my trusty VIIc and my crew were unable to get the flooding under control before my hull imploded. Ah well there goes another promising career. Still, I get to sample the delights of Wilhelmshaven with the 2nd Flotilla in my new career and get to look forward to Lorient and Bergen later on.

IF RUNNING GWX you will be transferred to the reorganised 13 Flotilla at Trondheim in Sep '44.

IF RUNNING STOCK/VANILLA/BASE/PIZZA/WTFYWTCI or nearly any non-GWX mod you will be transferred to 7 Flotilla at Bergen in Sep '44.

And the girls are prettier in Trondheim, as well as the local dialect is much easier on the ear
