Default Yellow Underwater Floaters -- Can I delete them?

On the underwater free camera there are objects I can only call yellow floaters. While they do ad a sense of depth so to speak they are far too numerous and dense to be anywhere near realistic.

Is there any way to delete them or make them almost totally transparent.

Thanks

Go to your SH4 root folder, C:/Program Files/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific/Data/Misc

Now find the file called impurity.dds, either rename it to impurity.dds_bak or delete it (make a backup first, just in case you don't like it)

Hey presto, yellow marks gone

Thanks for the replies, I'll see if maybe I can make them semi-transparent as well as delete them and see which one looks better.

Very cool matey. I was wondering the same thing. I'll bet a dollar too though, that there is a way to reduce their density to a more appropriate frequency by hex editing a line or two in maybe the scene.dat file or whichever applicable environmental or particle file regulates them. (For anyone who feels like looking into it.)
