Bollocks to this I'm starting a new career without fuel limits, this is one of the crap things about SH3 that was cured in SH4 where you just nip close to any friendly port and get the option to refuel and refit without breaking the mission, which makes sence really. Shame SH4 in such a zhit state gonna be years before they debug that sucker.
Oh While your here, oh mighty big brain, can you tell me is there any way of knowing what ships are enemy, neutrals or friendly before you sink the buggers. |

To answer your question: Check out the flags. on the nav screen , upper left hand corner there are some pull out charts on of them shows you who is frieendly, Enemy or neutral when.
Refueling doesn't cancel your mission, yuo get fuel , torpedoes, give out medals, then you are free to sail without orders.

I did look at the flag, and as far as I could tell it was Denmark, and my doofer said Denmark was a enemy of Germany, so I shot it, then I find out it was a neutral, putting me in bad books with me boss with the bird crap on his hat.
To answer your question: Check out the flags. on the nav screen , upper left hand corner there are some pull out charts on of them shows you who is friendly, Enemy or neutral when. Ta, I dident know that existed, I will check it out. |

And keep in mind - if this is your first patrol with fuel limits - some speeds give you MUCH better fuel economy than others.
You have about, oh, 10 times the range driving at 1/3 vs 'flank'. |

Play a little with the speed-needle around 8kts, and ask your Navigator for max-range at current speed everytime, and find the sweet spot.
A few 0.1kts difference can mean 500km more or less! That's for a TypeVII...we still don't know which uboat you're sailing.
