My Sub went to a close 85 degrees when my aft torpedo room flooded from an air attack... I repaired, the sub leveled out, only to catastrophically come apart at the seams a minute later.

I'm pretty confident that there are bugs with the crew/repair systems. I was just playing around with that save, trying things out, and here are some things I observed;
- Injured crew will continue to lose health and as far as I can tell there's nothing you can do to stop it. I wasn't at battle stations, and I tried moving them to compartments that weren't in use. - I dove to 100ft and sat there for a day, then surfaced. The exact moment I surfaced.. "Radar damaged!" .. by what?! Ugh. It's also easily reproducible at x32 on deck.. if it's some phantom air attack, why isn't the radar picking it up before it gets damaged? - Uninjured crew, put on my injured deck (that I can't repair, due to the circumstances detailed in my above post) will become injured. Again, I see no warnings, no attack, I spend a lot of time going at 32x to try and catch an attack myself.. my healthy crew will randomly lose health on my red deck, and once that happens, there's no turning back. Bugs + confusing undocumented functions = not fun. This is basically a game breaker for me. I'm not going to spend hours working on a patrol only to have to limp back home with a bunch of dead men because of one minor incident that triggers a never-ending cycle of broken equipment and bleeding-to-death crew. Actually, I probably will spend hours doing that. But not many, unless this is patched soon. Which sucks, but I guess I can always go back to SH3. |

Same problem with aircraft! Though, I have to admit that PTO subs were a lot different that ETO subs. Meaning, I remember reading about subs that were damaged in the Pacific, returning to base instead of continuing the patrol. The kind of damage that a VII would just shrug off!!! I wonder if the developers were attempting to re-create that, though it is plauged with bugs that I hope will be soon fixed!

I haven't played the game much and have yet to start a career. But after reading this thread I'm afraid to!
