How about this:

The British were in a stalemate with France until Nelson became an Admiral. Nelson kicked all kinds of ass, blah blah blah, captured and sank like a million ships, but for some dumbass reason got shot at the battle of Gibraltar. Then the British kicked more ass until the Americans kicked their ass, except when we got the White House burned down. Oops.

Well, there was this country called the Confederate States of America. Because they were such dumbasses, they broke away from America so they could keep slaves. For a while, they kicked the United State's asses, until something happened that turned them all into idiots. They didn't stand a chance anymore, blah, blah, blah, Atlanta got burned to the ground, etc... they lost horribly, but for the some reason feel a need to celebrate this. The End.

Roosevelt decided to build an atomic bomb before Hitler could. He told a bunch of scientists to go out to New Mexico and build it. For some reason, they couldn't get the bomb to work, blah blah blah, but then somebody discovered implosion and everything worked, except it all cost a lot of money. Then Germany surrendered, so they bombed Japan anyway, because if they hadn't, like, a bazzillion Americans would have died invading .

My point was his sarchastic synopises sounded bad, and in an odd way offensive. he said he didnt mean to belittle the history of the pacific, but he really did. Since it was the alantic he cared about, i decided to see how he'd like it if the "favor" was returned.

One thing ive really learned from playing this game, is an even deeper appreciation for the history of the time period, and i dont think any of it should be belittled out of bias.

Well, whatever anyone's thoughts are....

If ya want to sail in the Atlantic... to SH3 we go...

If ya want to sail in the Pacific... to SH4 we go...

Both theaters have their attractions... and addicted fans.

As long as you are sailing in an old diesel boat...

Its all GOOD!!!

Too true. I have not one single iota of interest in a modern submarine, at all. And yet, ive always been facinated by WW2 diesal boats. I really don't understand why.

Even with GWX, making the game being harder, and reading the bugs of SH4 and his first patch, SH3 will never fade away, at least I know how the allies think...

The subconscious fascination with the deadliness and danger surrounding that actual event, I guess. That's what war sims are about: A save and slender simulation of the deathly danger and the unbelievable intense adrenalin "kick" real war and battle stress causes on you.

Now that sounds a tad smart assed, I know, but I think that's it if I'm honest.

Cheers,

As some one who served on DE boats i got to agree with ya mate either way you get to play with them with both games with the unique opportunity to be either the bad guys oir the good guys, and oif you have 2 pc's both at the same time. Now theres an idea time to talk the missius into letting me get a second system

Comenow, have a bit of humour. We needn't take it so seriously. The whole point of my synopsis was that I knew the short ignoramt version of it that can be summed up in a brief TV show. As a matter of fact I have been reading a bit into the Pacific Theatre. I don't mean to offend anyones sensitivities. The whole symopsis was meant to be a demonstration of how much I know just from my ignorant, pre research place. And honestly I'm sure that I know more than 1/2 of the noobs walking into Subsim over the weekend.

Sorry to have ruffled yor feathers Ducimus, particularly when you're just making your entree into the new frontier of silent hunter. I have total respect for the men who fought there. The Atlantic isn't BETTER. I just know more about it. Hell I did what you did; I read every freaking book I could find!

Now can't we all just get along? We're all supposed to be on the same side anyway.
