COME ON OWNERS OF SHIV!!! How hard can it be to start slappin' up some screens?!?
with my GF6200 i doubt you want them.

why is it that all i read is " the game is ugly (its not) it doesnt have fsaa im not buying it.

kinda weird in a "simulation" forum.

i havent fully tested sonar, hyrdophone, but both as mentioned seem an actuall jump and leap backwards, unless theyve locked or hidden a feature i cannot listed out for ships, nor can i get the radar to do anything, both are simulated, but perhaps not fully interactive as in SHIII. but dont take my word for it, ive not put much time in, unfortunatly i have a job.

2morro ill put serious time into the sim and see whats what.

i know one thing with my computer if gfx mattered i wouldnt be playing, remember STALKER has been in development for 6 years, runs on any old computer and looks "so so" but plays well.

what a shame that the only thing anyone cares about in a niche market is ..looks
personally id rather have a more accurate sim, and one that ran at a decent rate, than a fancy looking game that was somewhat average to play.

except for the looks of the sea above and underwater, i see no huge leap forwards, i can identify ships just aswell as i could in SHIII wich is important.
what i cant do is run the damn thing above 1 frame per day because rather than concentrate on making a good sim they spent half the development cycle making it pretty....

ppl wanted survivors in the water, ok its one boat a ship but they got it anyways.
you can rescue pilots , wont be long before a mod makes it possible to rescue others im sure.
the graphics are great, i dont know why ppl hate them so much, seriously.
gameplay has 1 or two issues that may well be down to me overlooking something, but nothing bad. ( i spent ages looking for a salvo/fan option and just found out why i cant, US subs didnt have one)

its very new, and too many ppl are bitching about it without possibly having had the time to actually play it. unless they dont have jobs.

remember SHIII was kinda lame till they modded in all that extra traffic ? and ports were pointless as they were empty, well this game has more traffic than you ever saw in SHIII and ports that are overflowing with huge numbers of ships.
convoys vary in size, and milatary fleets dont consist of 2 ships. there can be 10+
the game itself, pretty much delivers. with one or two flaws that will hamper it untill patched, but jeez honestly play the thing before you have a tantrum.

and get over the obsession with looks. too many games these days are all graphics no gameplay.
makes me wonder if im the only one here old enough to have had a Amiga, Spectrum, Amstrad.

to me, if i look out the scope and see something wich apears to be a kongo, the graphics are fine.
as for jaggies, well i had a choice, upgrade the pc or get xbox 360. guess wich i chose. im fine with jagged edges.
i have the other box for those pretty 2 hour games.
i keep my pc for real games, pitty that they get shorter as the devs spend more time making them look better. no time left to add a game to the pretty picture i guess.

rant over :-P
