Default Which sub will you be most interested in?

Out of all the options?
I'm tempted by the Porpoise, as I like smaller subs, but I suspect the most popular will be one of the Gato offshoots.

Well, actually the Balao was an improved Gato.

I voted Sargo, simply because I like S-boats but the early fleet boats have me interested now.

I don't know.

But I'll play all the key types eventually!

Really, I think it's a case of S-boats vs. Early Fleet Boats vs. Fleet Boats
I expect to spend most of my time with Fleet Boats as such; otherwise it's sorta like playing the whole war in SHIII on a Type II :p

I voted Balao because I like their conning towers alot more, they were much simpler than the gato conning tower in my view, and they had different types of radar than the gatos

Well, to be honest I don't know enough about any of them to make an intelligent choice. I've heard of Gatos most often, though, so I voted for them. (I also played that platform on the old Silent Service II.)

Fast enough, deadly enough. Why bother waiting for the Balao?

I'm a Tambor fan myself. I guess it has something to do with the beginning stages of combat patrols against Japan, the excitement that comes with finding your way against a new enemy. The early fleet boats were so untested in combat, that there were so many 'discoveries' being made on war patrol's. It all makes for some gripping encounters and good stories.
