Which sub will you be most interested in?

Out of all the options?
I'm tempted by the Porpoise, as I like smaller subs, but I suspect the most popular will be one of the Gato offshoots.

canimodo 03-16-07 04:28 PM

I voted Gato cause maybe it´s the best of em !

Sailor Steve 03-16-07 04:31 PM

Well, actually the Balao was an improved Gato.

I voted Sargo, simply because I like S-boats but the early fleet boats have me interested now.

CCIP 03-16-07 04:40 PM

I don't know.

But I'll play all the key types eventually!

Really, I think it's a case of S-boats vs. Early Fleet Boats vs. Fleet Boats
I expect to spend most of my time with Fleet Boats as such; otherwise it's sorta like playing the whole war in SHIII on a Type II :p

shoot-kill-win 03-16-07 04:42 PM

I voted Balao because I like their conning towers alot more, they were much simpler than the gato conning tower in my view, and they had different types of radar than the gatos

geetrue 03-16-07 06:10 PM

I want the latest and the best ... heck I would take a I-400 if they
were available :yep:

Crosseye76 03-16-07 06:26 PM

Gato, just for tradition. But, of course, I'll play them all. I wanna try S-44 vs. Kako for example.

OneTinSoldier 03-16-07 06:32 PM

The Balao. It was responsible for Bungo Pete's funeral!

leeclose 03-16-07 07:51 PM

hmm its gota be the Gato for me they seemed to be nice well rounded boats and read a lot about them as well  plus for me i might get to skipper the Wahoo which for me would be a dream come true :yep:

No love for the Tambor?

Tigrone 03-17-07 03:41 AM

USS Tautog (SS-199). If you want a chance to run up a score, the Tambor/Gars are the ones to do it with, but remember, 7 of the 12 in the class where lost. You go out often enough to dangerous places, they are going to get you.

I really havent read much about any of these subs, and I have to admit I am a tad clueless on this sub class stuff.

How many crew members were roughly on each class? anyone care to educate me?

Rilder 03-17-07 04:55 AM

That S18 and Porpoise looks cool, they all look rather simular though so I don't care :p

S18 has a nice Interior though, looks nice and open.
