yup:rotfl: :rotfl:
well you could start in 45 but i doubt you will survive 1 patrol:rotfl:
or even out of port
I tried the 45 start and all I could get was the VIIC. Unless I'm missing something...like renown I used Bergen as my port and yes I was promptly sunk. No joke.....

Yup. You'l start in july, 1943. And then they'll send you to a south atlantic grid. Whle down there, they'll tell you to refuel at brake, and then patrol the arabian sea. Then your base changes to Penang.

Sink or survive, its a one way trip. You' wont be crossing biscay bay again.

Out of curiosity I attempted what you said here. Needless to say I concur that the IXD2 is too big for its own good. I made it out of the Bay of Biscay around the 5th of July 1943. Weather was rough and I had to surface for batteries. I surfaced right away and received a radar contact off to my 270 bearing. Needless to say it being 1943 I took no hesitation in ordering the crash dive. However the damn boat was too slow getting down there and the Catalina came out of the sky and I recieved all she had which was 8 bombs or such right behind my conning tower. I survived the initial blow but flooding was to great and we went straight down before crushing at 190m.

I'll try again later tonight as I am trying to get the handle on these big boats because I'm "training" for Silent Hunter IV.

Plot your course to go AROUND freetown. Theres an airbase there, go around it , you have plenty of fuel and a resupply tanker waiting for you in the indian ocean.

Don't get too close to capetown either if you can avoid it. If not, stay down by day, dawn, and dusk. Surface only at night.

Usually woman like the "big is better" theory? :hmm:

Yes the IXD2 is a large boat but its a fantastic boat at that. IXC maybe, IXD2 all the way!

Oi, you are a moderator now, you are gonna have to moderate yourself if you expect us ordinary posters to take your moderating seriously, your moderateship!:rotfl:

IXC or IXC/40. IXD is too big. cumbersome and very unagile.

great I just started a type VII uber mini and now this

I had always assumed that the game used the same hull
for all type IX's I guess I shouldve looked closer.

trip takes 90 days at sea. No sweat.

Now as to the IXD2, i personaly prefer the IXC/40. Im debating if i should retry this with that boat, or continue with the D2.

edit:

No it doesn't. Exception being the IXC and IXC/40 - those use the same hull. IXB and IXD2 has its own hull.
