If you are happy with SH3 and all the Mods plus you have limited time, and who dosn't, just keep playing shIII and enjoy.

I still have not been everywere and done everthing in GWX. I still look forward to tuning out the world and going looking for trouble in my IXB.

That does not prevent me from jumping up, grabbing the monitor and screaming: gim me, GIM ME , GIMMMMM MMEEEE......when the subject of SHIV comes up.

Afterwords I just lay on the floor and sob for a while.

Whilst I understand the temptation to wait until the game goes budget, I'm going to buy SH4 now at full price to support Ubisoft and hopefully encourage tham to produce Destroyer Command 2 and SH5.

Lol. While I agree with your sentiments I'll probably go out and buy a copy as soon as I can after it's on the shelves.
One thing that I say to console myself - it can't be that buggy, since it's based on the SH3 engine, so it's not like it's completely new.

You can't enjoy the thrill of watching the sim going through incremental changes with patches and mods if you hold off. Kinda like getting a new game every few weeks .

Wait????:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: You've got to be kidding!!! I think that there will be bugs, but far less than SH3. I'm just hanging out untill my is delivered.

P.S. I ordered the Collector's edition, but I'm in the running to win a copy of the delux edition. The Online shop I pre-ordered from is giving two copies of the DE away to anyone who purchase's a copy of SH4.

Unfortunately I am going to be forced to wait. I am leaving Japan permanently at the end of this month and my computer and all my belongings will be loaded onto a ship for transport. This means no SH4.
Oh well, hopefully by the time I'm all setup again some initial bugs will have been ironed out with a patch, there'll be a few improvements in the form of mods and you good folks here at sumsim will have written up several handing guides to help me terrorise the Emperor's navy with greater efficiency.

Ubisoft loves the type of players who pre-order or run out and buy their games soon after the release due to impatience or ignorance. This is the reason they (and other software compaines) can get away with releasing buggy, half-finished games and then release a few patches later. Because a lot of players will buy no matter what. They calculate their profits based on the number of people who run out and buy it without waiting or doing any research about the game's problems. I think this would equal maybe 95% of their customers. I'm getting the popcorn ready and the beer chilled to read all of the problems and complaints regarding SH4 once it's released. Anyone remember all the complaints and whining after the buggy, unfinished SH3 release? Now that was entertainment. In other words, I'm waiting. Patience, young Grasshopper, patience.

So those buying the game via pre-orders and within a few days of release are either ignorant or impatient--and can't simply be fans of the genre, huh?

Interesting perspective you have there.
