Default Anyone else going to wait?

After rediscovering the game (SH3) after a year or so off (basically waited until a lot of
the mods matured and became easier to install and uninstall), I'm really in no hurry to
forsake SH3. Plus for reasons stated in this thread:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=106864

I'd rather play a 2 year old game where most of the bugs have been killed and gameplay
has been enhanced by various modders, instead of a brand-new likely buggy and
unmodded game (cool as it otherwise may be). Anyone else waiting?

In theory, you are right. However, let's not mistake Ubisoft with Microsoft. Will you be able to wait 2 years to play SH4 ? I really doubt it, I know I couldn't. In addition to this, the team at Ubi said that they have learned a lot from the modders community, and they promised a complete game this time. How complete....we will know. But anyway, superior. I am sure that big hearted boys around here will mod it, will add friendly and foe subs, and so on. It's the nature of things to evolve.

Unless you have a teeny, teeny, weeny, little hard drive there is no need to abandon SHIII. Com'on mate ...negative waves... Buy SH IV and have some fun like everyone else.
It's built on the same engine as SHIII...What do you think might happen if you take the plunge?

I think it's more fun getting stuck in and helping to fix it rather than waiting for the patches and mods. I do think SH4 will be in better shape than SH3 at the time of release though. I honstly don't think we'll see 'patch mania' this time.

I believe the developers listen and learned from SH3. Will the game have bug or two? Probably....just like most new games and even patches that come out. It is part of the deal. Not only that, the developers got Subsim coffee mugs for Christmas. Come on man, that's worth a extra effort by the developers and by golly I think we will get it. I have complete faith that we will be in for a great game. I mean really, just how may developers make small films of development and answer questions outright? Not many. I for one will be first on line to get this game and I do not believe I will be disappointed at all!

When your a little kid you play around in the back yard as late as you can, bugs and all, till your parents make you come inside.

Now that your old enough to purchase your own PC games, you play as late as you can, bugs and all.

You won't be able to come back in here in April without wanting to play SH4 yourself.

Go ahead buy it now and patch it later ... Life's to short to bitch all the time anyway.

lol yeah

I find it hard waiting for 23rd... let alone another year or 2. The games not going to be real buggy and unplayable. Fair enough SH3 had a few bugs at launch but i still found it as fun when it first came out as it is now

Yep, I'm going to wait for the obvious reasons.

One is to see how much trouble it will be. LOL

Two, I can't say anything about the other reason here. So don't even think of mentioning what you think it is..... it won't go over very well.

Three is to wait for the price to drop. I'm not about to fork over 50 bucks for a sim... the "Warden" would have a hissy fit. It was hard enough to get new HDDs for my computer, let alone asking for SH4 this early on. When I ask, she says... "what's in yer wallet?. And I reply.... "nuttin honey!" Too which she comes back.... "too bad fer you!"

I live about 5 miles from an EB store so I'll wait about 5 Min. after they call
me with my copy.

I will not be waiting, but SH3 is going nowhere, I like the Atlantic Theatre to much

I will play both.

I also will wait for the price to fall on the game and the upgrades I need for the game. And of course when most of the bugs have been sorted, I waited for two years what's another year or two.

Mmmmmm....looks like Neal must create a new subforum for lovers of leather, whip, mask, not playing SH4 and all other kinds of voluntary pain & suffering :hmm:

I will be waiting, I have a couple games I want to buy but do not want to buy them at once. I was around for SH3 release and seeing how that went I figure I may as well make SH4 the one that waits a bit.
Also I am a bit concerned how well SH4 will run on my PC (P4 3000, 1gig ram, Nvidia 6600). Will wait to hear from the community to see how (if??) something along the lines of my rig will run it.
