By 1940, the US (While not officially IN the war) was helping the British out with their convoys, and notifying the British of the locations of German U Boats they spotted (While they wouldn't attack them, they could stay on top of the sub till a British ship would show up and drop the depth charges)
The US would not at this stage allow Germans to dock in the US ports.

IIRC in the original manual it says something about your sub being impouinded if you dock in a neutral port regardless of nationality and therefore you shouldn't do it.
Never tried it myself yet, mainly because of that.

Well i notice there are two ports on the spanish coast that appear blue, freindly ports? Y is that?
