Ummm, USA is neutral in 1940.

emtmedic005 02-21-07 08:54 PM

um America didnt enter the war until 1941, right???

Ducimus 02-21-07 09:01 PM

About a week or two after Pearl Habor i think.

Back to the point, you can only dock at german bases. (their the ones colored in blue on the map)

Kinda silly trying to resupply at a neutral country - particuarlly one that's been sending escorts along convoy routes.

Although neutral I dont think America would resupply or refuel you, they didnt like the Nazi's much.
If the port was owned by IBM you might have a chance :)

By 1940, the US (While not officially IN the war) was helping the British out with their convoys, and notifying the British of the locations of German U Boats they spotted (While they wouldn't attack them, they could stay on top of the sub till a British ship would show up and drop the depth charges)
The US would not at this stage allow Germans to dock in the US ports.

IIRC in the original manual it says something about your sub being impouinded if you dock in a neutral port regardless of nationality and therefore you shouldn't do it.
Never tried it myself yet, mainly because of that.

IIRC..

The day after Pearl Harbor, the US declared war on Japan. It didn't take but a couple days for Germany to declare war on the US shortly thereafter. ;)
