It's like when I started playing Miss PacMan and my buddies started hating on me because they styed "true" to the original...Well, they were wrong, Ms PacMan rocked!!! PacMan Jr, on the other hand, blew. But Miss Pacman??? Awesome!!!
I'm still waiting for the Miss Pacman GWX mod to come out so that we attack "en masse"...

GWX now boasts over 11000 downloads
What other mod can compete with that :hmm:

Non-believers.

Next time you encounter these types, give them the link for Subsim and point them towards the screenshot thread and the GWX manual.

Let the conversion of these heathens begin.

:rotfl:

EDIT - @Jim, where did that figure come from?

Number of torrent downloads (site admin....private/invite ...also included figure of 3000 IIRC from Gizzmoe a month back) + numbers accumulative from FF

I haven't tried NYGM, but I have gotten GWX recently. Let me tell you I am trying very hard to find fault. In case no one noticed, I am a Type II fan (hence the sig): Saw first fault: AH! They gave an extra torp to the type II. I did some research and could only find 5 torps... so I though "...this is no good". Then someone here tells me that in real life they would carry 6...now that to me is taking realism to the extreme...which I like! Who cares if it was only supposed to carry 5...seriously, if you were in a Type II during the war, wouldn't you stuff as many torps as she would carry? I'm sure they did too... Excellent stuff.

My second criticsm was that they made the uniforms too rigid and alike. But then when you examine how they dress in Das Boot or you look at old u-boot photos, they aren't really like the stock SH3 but more like GWX. Stock SH3 looks like the crew were in a charity shop when a bomb went off. A bit OTT in my opinion...

Third criticsm...they gave the Type II a paint job. But...so what? Every photo I have seen of a Type II is exactly like the one in GWX with just a hint of rust...not the rust bucket stock SH3 gave us.

So my only criticsm left is the bagpipe music...which isn't bad just slightly long. And that's just a matter of taste...also considering I love all the other music...

As for the visuals...let me give you some examples:

Stock SH3 without GWX (with my old FX5500)

With GWX and my new graphics card (Radeon X1650 Pro)...look how beautiful she looks

And this picture I find breathtaking....it has so much detail and adds so much to how the stock game looked...this picture looks very realistic even for a flight sim:

And you guys with your powerful graphics cards can do even better...GWX is easily worth money...and we get it for free...what more do you want?

Hi, Bagpipe music is one of those 'either love em or hate em' situations. I'm the latter .. heard enough droning to last a lifetime !

BTW .. noting your cranes in bottom picture; some cranes will be moving in some Docks in SH4.

Well, at good old Terrapin's site... one of the headlines states that 2.5 TERRABYTES of GWX data was downloaded from there this month. http://mpgtext.net/u-boot/

I wonder how many DL's that amounts to.

(I think I'm on his poop list though. I overlooked getting him a copy of GWX prior to release day.)
