To release him is easy. Just follow these steps:
1. Load the game and your career. 2. Go to the barraks screen and note down the names of your officers (they should be 4). 3. Exit the game and fire up SH3Cmd 4. Find the missing officer (by his name) and click on the option 'Allow him to get command of his own boat' 4. Exit SH3Cmd, fire the game, load your career and hire a new one
