WTH... Welcome aboard, all the new guys from all over the world!

Isn't it amazing? Americans, Scandinavians, Germans, Slavians, Australians, Japanese, Indonesians, Jews/Israelis, Romanians, Russians... All of them in the same forum. Will I'll ever be able to finally believe it? (when are we going to meet any French here?)

perhaps the french could bring their own subs I'd love a go in the surcouf.

Oh, back to thread I played sh1 and destroyer command (and IL2 like nearly everyone ) before i found SH III while looking for xmas prezzies (mummy like Atlantic war books) so just bought it for myself

Got GWX now so keep dying because I can't resist taking on convoys in the shallows.

Work in London so if anyone wants to arrange a drink up sometime....

I've been around for some time. Although I happen to live in Germany at the moment, I have a french passport...

Is the passport yours? I've got a Greek one, for example, bought for 1 Deutsch Mark at Omonoia Square, Athens... :rotfl:

I don't think it's possible to mention all of them. Some of the names I wouldn't probably even recognize if we started to list them all. It's also sometimes quite hard to state, what "own country" is, escpecially for a left-minded guy of mixed origin that sings "Internationale" on his morning shave, crash dives in a nazi submarine, votes for liberals party (no other choice, ghrrr...), hates [auto-censored] and loves Latin. :rotfl:

I could add Syria to the list of countries, as I made (ad I mean it) two of my Syrian friends to 'have a look at this marvellous forums'. They play SH3 but refuse to register here.

Maybe we should start a list of countries of SH3 players somewhere here?

PS. I remembered just a while ago a guy I met in Israel. He called himself a Morrocan and insisted that his name is: Idu Luciano Dante Porteleoni-Cohen. "Why Morrocan", I asked, "You're Jewish as were your parents and grandparents!". He answered: "But my family used to live in Morroco, then they moved to Italy in XIIth century...". I love this! :rotfl:

I'll introduce myself as well.

Started playing submarine games on the Amiga (can't for the life of me remember what it was called). Progressed on to SH2 and loved it loads. moved on to CFS3 stayed with that for a while, but in all honesty unless you had a "super pooter" you're always going to have slow frame rates with that game.

I was playing a lot of FS9 till quite recently and then I discovered SH3. All my birthdays came at once!! and with the addition of GWX (a big well done to everyone involved in making GWX - and all the other mods) I can't put the game down. Fortunatly I'm already divorced so I can play to my hearts content.

I'm a Brit too by the way

Hallo Paukenschläger!

Bought the game three weeks ago but because of exams I have only been on one patrol. I haven't installed GWX yet, but I plan to do it when I've played the stock version a bit longer.

So far I think it's a great game - and a challenging one as well. The community is great too - and really adds alot to the game. By this I mean all the great tutorials/academies, stories and the mods.

The reason why I bought the game is a general interest in military history and simulation and strategy games.

Good Hunting,
G Lassen

Got this game from one of my cousins and after i played it the first time....i decided that this THE ONE..... I love everything that's World War 2 related and tried to play other WW2 games like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Battlefield, Commandos, Hidden and Dangerous and some airplane simulators like IL2 Sturmovik and..... can;t remember the rest. But i have never been more impressed by a game like Silent Hunter 3. I mean just the feeling of sailing across the world and sinking battle cruisers is just.....undescribable. In conclusion i'm happy that i finally found my favourite game which comes along with a great community as well.
I'll be seeing you around folks (stupid exams, GRRRR.....)

Same here, only, for crying out loud, keine Englander.. Dutch here, once YES once, we ruled the seven seas.. never forget our tiny country!
Remember Willem van der Dekken ? he's the captain of the Flying Dutchman, google it. and you know where I life :-)

Anyhow, the ex FS9 or still being captains in it, are the best to play SH3. They know how to navigate and patience properly.
Yup, I am one of them.

Anyhow, Sh3 is one of the most imersive and athmospheric games I ever saw..

Keep up the good work herrn Kaleuns.
