Here are links to the Edmund Fitzgerald, which Don1reed mentioned in his first post.

IIRC (which I often don't) Convoy PQ17 had 3 'Lakers' which transferred from lake Superior and sailed for England, can't remember if they got there and can't find any of my books . (needed one for the French big gun sub on another thread)

That was all in my fourth link.

Also, it's a good idea to post a link to where you get something, so people don't think you put it together yourself.

Come on bandi...don't feel like that matey...I'm sure all that Steve meant was that it is a good idea to let people know where you source your info from because it also gives them a head start in enquiring further.
Two quick points:
1)Steve's an okay kind of guy...he's been around a lot longer than most and during that time he's been very supportive and informative to not only the forum but also to all the folk who use this forum.
2) Your participation on this forum is very much welcomed here...this is a friendly forum and the folk here will and do appreciate your contributions.
We all...everyone of us...began here at some point or other.
Keep yer chin up and..................................SINK EM ALL!!

signed up or posted... TY for your patients...

I will still be around, and if there is something
I can post that is informative, I will still do so...

Thanks Again...

Bandi--

Speaking as a retired military veteran, don't pay any attention to perceived disagreement, anger, harsh comment, or otherwise rudeness on anyone's part here on a public forum. There is a broad spectrum of diverse input, some brilliant, some not so...but, thats the nature of the brute.

...all comers are alway welcome. Without participation from the least of us, this little get-away from reality, would cease to exist. So, please stay and keep alive the memory of the one who appears in your signature.

edit: Everytime you post, you wave Ben's flag. It reminds everyone subliminally of the sacrafice others have paid so that Americans can breath freely.

cheers,
