Excellent work, Van!!

Here's a free DL of STAR CALC which can be set for any date and time between 1939-1945

http://www.relex.ru/~zalex/main.htm

It can be used as an emergency Nautical Almanac...just plug in your known or assumed Lat/Long and it will give you the altitudes and azimuths of all celestial bodies.

OMG, this is awesome vanjast. I have yet to learn the whole process of taking star sightings for real (only did fake ones in SHI by reading the coordinates under favourable weather conditions at night), but this is exactly the reason why I'm into simulations.
Thanks a lot for your work vanjast, can't wait!

The maps are done... Just some minor changes to the small one, and maybe a grid colour change. I'll try this out later.
Big map zoomed close on sub

and zoomed out near the moon !!

Errr... I'm going away for 2 weeks on monday, to some remote fishing village up the coast. So this will be the last bit of effort until I get back - It bit of bad timing...
