They are almost always far too fast to shadow!

I would spend the torp on a keel shot on the smallest cruiser. That way you *might* get a kill.

Or fire at the BB in the hope you hit an ammo or fuel bunker and if you don't...surface to duke it out with em and kiss your sorry ar*e goodbye

in fact...if your really that desperate for extra gun ammo you can go to:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIIIGWX\data\Cfg Basic....and change the quantities yourself

I do that is Stock, but not in GWX.

Last night I was up near Scapa Flow zooming off my patrol grid, full of Torps, my Sonarman reported a warship behind me, closing but I guessed I was safe and ignored it, I only zoomed into the map when it was well in front of me and noticed it was a task force with Rodney and some Southampton classes, flying at 21knts, was gutted, had the perfect opportunity to get into position and cause some damage
