Yes AI torps should have been included in stock along with the Subs to go with them
GWX has a couple of real talented ppl in that department so never say never
Just kidding

Anyway, I think the GWX team would be able to do this sooner or later, but I also think that AI torps would require modifying the hardcoded parts of the game...as far as I know this is illegal.

schhhh....*whispiers*..GWX Team, you know: as u-boat-commanders it is our job to do what we have to do without getting caught I think no one would report you because everyone would love it.
No it doesnt need anything like that
Just needs some clear thinking and some talented ppl

A year ago no one would have thought you could have rockets in the game but they are here

I still wonder about how combat between two submarines looked like in WW2. If they are on the surface I think its the same as usual but what happened after they went down? Was the hydrophone of a WW2 sub able to hear another U-Boats electrical engines good enough to keep a track?

It happened, just once. Look at the treads about the sub off Norway that was sunk by a british sub and is leaking mecury out from the cargo it was carring to Japan.

I'm pretty sure all of the sub kills (except one) by another sub in WWII were with the targetted one being on the surface and the shooter being submerged.

Now, there was one incident that I've read about where a submerged sub killed another submerged one but that had to have been a 1 in a million shot. The sub doing the sinking was British, the one sunk was Italian I believe. It's been a while since I read about it so I'm pretty hazy on the details.

No, it was German. Look for the posts in this thead of the forum and the General thread for more info on the sub, It was sunk by the british as it made it's way to Japan with jet aircraft parts and mecury on board. The mecury is leaking out, so there are plans to emtomb the wrecked sub in a mound od sand and gravel, so the mecury will be contained and not enter the food chain.

The British sub commander launched a spread of four torpedos with a 15 second gap between each one, three missed, the last one hit, breaking the german sub in two. They had tracked it for an hour using hydraphones and visual sightings of the enemy's periscope.
