Believe it or not because i have the choppy wave set to 0 the sub crew never went under . I travelled in a circle to get the waves from diffrent angles . This is still an ongoing project .

The only problem with waves so big is that some of the smaller ships don't stand a chance... i.e flowers, tugs, fishing boats, and even some of the DDs.

issue a small craft advisory...tell them to stick to the bay and inland waters.

Like he said. The smaller vessels sink in big waves. That´s why there isnt "Hurricane weather!!!111" mods out there.

Nice. It looks like an image from the Sydney to Hobart during the Tasman Sea crossing.

Hey Sober, I really like you 3D water mod and will install it with the new GWX mod unless you already told them to use it. Anyway, the waves look wild. Someone commented that the smaller ships will sink. I remember in the vanilla version watching ships sink in a very bad storm. I see no issue here with that. It was a reality and still is a reality in the high seas! One problem I do see is the weather has a real problem changing. Sometimes going on for weeks. Is this issue addressed in your wave mod?

Sounds like a good way to get those pesky enemy escorts off you in "bad" weather. LOL Just sit back and watch 'em sink, then go in for the kill.

While you are in mini tweaker you might want to go to SCENE_DAT , SEA FOAM and change the ANIMATION SPEED to 2 .

I dont think DD's actually were completely sunk in storms, as far as I know the US fletcher class had some troubles with seakeeping in the atlantic because of the flat bow, but as long as the ship didnt capsize it would stay above the waves.

For fishing boats and other small ships there should be a mod implemented in GWX so you simply dont encounter them during bad weather....because they stay in port just like in reality.

What about those daring fishermen where no waves could stop them and would venture off into the suicidal storm? D:, There must have been a few who thought they could brave the storm, no?

Unfortunately i dont think its possible . The game could have had something like dont spawn above certain wave height for certain ships . Maybe theres some adjustment in the SCENE_DAT . Its more of a discussion than a mod .

You might want to check this out if you think DD's could handle all weather. Capsizing was a real risk on some small ships and there were a number lost in storms duing the war.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Wisconsin_%28BB-64%29

"The next day the weather, however, soon turned sour for Halsey's sailors. A furious typhoon struck his fleet, catching many ships refueling and with little ballast in their nearly dry bunkers. Three destroyers, Hull (DD-350), Monaghan (DD-354), and Spence (DD-512), capsized and sank. Wisconsin proved her seaworthiness as she escaped the storm unscathed."
