Before everyone answered I could tell by the wing markings that it's Italian. Dunno where that freaky paint job came from. It looks like a custom job.:hmm:

Yes, the SM 79, and ther paint scheme was standard Italian Med. Scheme. They had some on their fighters that were real cool looking, but a pain to reproduce on a model unless you make a template to use.

It was used as a torpedo bomber and level bomber with good effect on the Malta convoys, I think it was also used as an anti-submarine aircraft as well.
