That's just great. 2 seconds on a spanking new sub and Neal totals it!

Don't worry, Pingjockey! We'll find you a new tub, far away from the paws of Neal Butterfingers here!

You're a lucky guy to be serving on the Texas. I'm diabetic, so the Navy doesn't want me . You've got a family here @ Subsim.com, so if you ever need a care package or a letter, give me a buzz. I took my son to Texas in June to see the USS Texas (1914 edition) and the Cavalla and it just kills me that I missed your boat. So share your naval adventures (if you are able to).

Good Luck in your naval career

Whoa, guys thanks for the amazing welcome... Its very nice of you all to be polite and stuff to me. And to my fellow submariners I bid a fond hello.

So, let me get this out of the way... I have no issues answering any questions as long as they don't deal with things of a classifed nature. I am technican on the following systems, Sonar, Fire Control, Ships control system (Think Pilot and Co-pilot) and both the tactical and non-tacitcal lans. So, fire away folks.......
I am all ears.....

PS:
I guess you guys could consider me a "Subject Matter" expert on the Virgina Class and the Los Angles Class...

Pingjockey, it's good to have you on board...you, and the men that have gone before you serve and have served not just your country, but the world, the men of the silent service go and do things that no other branch of the military can do, they are the quiet problem solvers, their achievements often unheralded but no less important than the pilots over Baghdad or the tank crews in Basra. The Cold War may be over, but the ocean isn't always a friendlier place, it's the courage of men like you, that keeps our seas safe, and our world turning.
Fair seas and following winds.
God bless ya

With a name like USS Texas that is a mighty big set of shoes to follow after.
She not only bears the name of the great state but one great battleship of which everyone here should one day visit, the only dreadnaught still in existance.
I have no doubt the new Tex will uphold the honor the former carried to such a high level.
Welcome

I noticed your profile puts you in Hampton. I guess you were pre-com in Texas. Is she coming to Norfolk? I'll understand if you can't give out that info.

'Howdy' Pingjockey, as you chaps say, and a belated welcome from another Britisher
Be prepared for an avalanche of 'realism' questions concerning sub technology... they're a curious bunch around here who, likely as not, will snatch your hand off at the meerest sniff of a juicy submarine tibt-bit!
