Default Two Questions

What is "NYGM" ??

In the torpedo training mission there are little yellow and green triangles that show up on the target.. at least through the binoculars they do. What are these for ??

Thanx for your patience... Maybe I'll catch up with you...

The Triangle is the Angle on Bow indicator

when its Red - Orange : not an good AoB (angel on bow) to shoot
when its yellow - green: good AoB to shoot

No. It is the gyroangle indicator. When the triangle is green, the torpedo will (if at all) barely have to turn to make the shot. Bear in mind, when you press the firing button, the solution is fixed, but your sub and target are still moving, so if the triangle is yellow or orange, that time elapsed will result in a small amount of error in the actual path traveled by the torpedo.

(you can notice this yourself by watching the gyroangle display; as it goes from 355-005 degrees, the triangle will be green, for example. I can't remember what the other values are.)

Yes,it indicates the "amount of moving" to be done by the torpedo.For example,if you are parallel with a ship,you can have a very good AoB ,but the triangle will orange.

@enemy ---> __
@@@@@@@@@| <----- torpedo trajectory
you---> __ - - - /

Hope you understand the drawingThe continous lines are the 2 ships-you and your target and the dotted line is the ideal torpedo trajectory.The position is really good if you are not seen,as the torpedo will have a lot of chances to hit.And if you look at the triangel in that position,it will be orange.You can however use it as a bit of guidance.You have to take into consideration the position of you ship and your target's position.For example,if you are in the position I drew,and you look at the enemy,you want the triangle to be orange or yellow .If you see it green,you know something is probably wrong.And if you are attacking at a 90 degree angle , you want the triangle to be green.If it's red,then something might be wrong with your calculations.

Right. If it's a fairly straight shot, and the triangle is red, check to make sure you don't have the rear torpedo tube selected by mistake, for example.
