Hello everyone,
It has been a while. I recently got back do SH4 and installed the amazing FotRSU. First thank you all for a masterful Mega Mod, it breathed new life into the game. Now I've been having some issues and searching the forums I found people with similar problems but the discussions did not offer a solution or the closure I was hoping for. 1. First one is regarding the stadimeter, I seem to be getting wrong readings, as the OP of this post - https://www.subsim.com/radioroom//sh...d.php?t=256800. I have a ultrawide monitor (3440x1440) but have been playing with a 16:9 (1920x1080) resolution. I was wondering if this is a known issue with ultrawide or there is anything a could try besides what were suggested on the post (I tried all). 2. About the traffic around the Solomons, like OP on this older post - https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/sho....php?p=2896099 - I found the Slot to be mostly devoid of any ships besides Sampans. I have been looking closely the time dates on the Mission Editor to be sure to be on the right spot at the right time, but for most of the 2nd half of 1942 I have only encountered Sampans, it almost seems like some of the files have not been loaded into the Campaing. I was wondering if it could be a problem with my install. 2.1. I would like to try and tweak the encounters in the Solomons to add some Japanese and American Task Forces (like the enconter of Savo Island) to incorporate them on the campaing, but I have very, very limited knowledge on how to use de Mission Editor, so I would appreciate if someone could point me to a good resource on how to achieve that. About my install, I am running Win 11, with SH4 1.5 installed from the CDs (I converted into ISOs). The following MODs were added to a fresh install with no saved games prior to them: 100_FalloftheRisingSun_Ultimate_v1.8 101_FotRSUv18_FixPak Nihon Kaigun v1.3a_FotRSU Nippon_Maru_v1.9b_FotRSU Nihon Kaigum Nippon Maru Combined Roster 450_MoonlightzSonarLines 451_TMOstyle_NavMapDots 451a_TMOstyle_NavMapDots_Nippon_Maru 451b_TMOstyle_NavMapDots_Nihon_Kaigun 454c_EasyAOB_InputTargetDistanceOnTBT Fleetboat_Interior-Officers_Quarters_FOTRSU_v1.7_EN FI-OQ_FotRSU_v1.8f_upcPatch CPT_ROOM_CUSTOM_NAME_PLATE |

I've seen the same thing....I try to find the Japanese cruisers bombarding the field and the destroyers who regularly resupplied the troops, never see diddly in the slot. Also with all transits by Task forces for repair and replenishment into and out of Kure through the bungo strait in real life, I never see squat.

All the .mis files seem to be ok, but I get the impression that only the Coastal Traffic file is being loaded (if that makes sense)

I played a bit with FOTRSU a few months ago, and I got the same impression regarding the Solomons area traffic.

Should show if layers are in the campaign. Typos in the exit/entry date can cause traffic not to load. |

101_FotRSUv18_FixPak2.7z Download the file to your MODS folder. Unzip it, de-activate the 101_FotRSUv18_FixPak and then activate the 101_FotRSUv18_FixPak2. The only difference between the 2 files is the inclusion of a Campaign.cfg file in the "2" set. The Solomons file in the original set does not start until 19430101, which misses most of the Guadalcanal Tokyo Express runs, as well as some of the battles and bombardments. I am not certain as to if you will have to re-start a career or not. The thing to do would be to copy your Save folder and paste it somewhere safe. Then activate the newer fixpak version, and if it then crashes your game, de-activate the mod, delete the Save folder, and copy your saved save folder back in. Let me know how it goes for you. ![]()

Thank you @Bubblehead1980 and @propbeanie, it was increadbly helpful
![]() Yesterday night, after I saw your reply here @Bubblehead1980, I started looking at the Campaign.cfg and indeed noticed that the SolomonIslands.mis whose groups were programed for 1942 was actually set for 1943 in the Campaign.cfg and was about to check other files. @propbeabie, thank you so much for the files, and for this incredible mod ![]() |

![]() I should mention, only do the fixpak when you are in-base, between patrols.

Hello everyone,
I managed to make a test today of the new 101_FotRSUv18_FixPak2.7z, and everything seems to be running as intended. What I did was uninstall old fixpack using JSGME, then installed the new one. After that I loaded an Autosave_OnLeavingBase save, and started a new patrol out of Brisbane on july 4th 1942. I also checked the SolomonIslands.mis on the Mission Editorto see what encounters I could expect, and found that CoverGroupOne should begin appearing in july 15th. I ignored my assigned patrol area and proceeded to the point just NW of Guadalcanal where the Group was supposed to pass, and lo and behold, they appeared on the night of july 18th, 1 Ushio leading 5 Kayas. ![]() |
